Friday night cocktail party at AB’s followed by dinner at Sidney Street and two drink stops at Brasserie and Taste with a few other couples.
Delicious drinks all night led to a not so delicious headache Saturday morning.
Saturday afternoon brought the food truck festival at Four Hands Brewery with some of AB’s friends enjoying Seoul Taco and cold beers while playing bags. Sidenote: I’ve conformed started calling it “bags” and not “cornhole” because it’s already too much to handle every time someone hears the words “pop” and “supper” come out of my mouth.
After some big naps and catching up on the Blues game (another solid win!) AB and I snuck out for a quick dinner at Winslow’s Home. The food was fantastic and I continually found myself wondering why the heck I don’t hit it up more often… especially given the four block distance from my house.
Dinner at Winslow’s unexpectedly turned into a pretty romantic little date and I found myself letting out a few happy tears over my split pea soup.
AB and I went in different directions for a few hours and met up with our own groups of friends… He had one in town and I have one getting ready to pack up and move to Denver. I liked that we could separate for the latter portion of the night before meeting back up around midnight.
Sunday allowed for a lazy morning before I went to meet a friend for brunch at Molly’s and AB hit up some errands. Bottomless mimosas proved to be a favorite once again and we now have plans in the works to go to KC in June to visit the third member of our usual mimosa posse.
And finally last night was for hosting AB’s two sisters (he’s a triplet!) for Sunday night supper. He made some pretty damn delicious burgers with goat cheese and mushrooms along with grilled veggies. I whipped up a spicy bechamel that I added two kinds of cheddar and gruyere to before tossing with shells and baking. It was about a thousand kinds of delicious exploding in my mouth. More importantly I really enjoyed getting to know AB’s sisters and I think (hope) that they liked me too.
